Great news! My wife Liesa Thill and I put together a grant application for a deTOUR Downtown Brainerd event, and it’s been approved! Our event “Seeing Music/Hearing Canvas” will be a performance event that combines live music and live art, and it will take place some time this summer.
deTOUR Downtown is a collaboration of several local and regional agencies/organizations with the goal of helping keep downtown Brainerd hopping despite major road construction going on this summer. Several other artists/placemakers will have events throughout the construction season. Many details still need to be ironed out including helping secure funding. Watch for more details and please consider even a small donation toward the cause when the crowdfunding effort by the deTOUR Downtown organizers is up and running in June.
